Aircraft Spirals Wildly into Palm Fronds at Well-Known Southern California Coast
A chopper flying above a well-attended southern California beach abruptly began spiraling uncontrollably, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a line of palm groves as spectators watched.
Recordings posted on the internet depict the aircraft commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a staircase near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders stated five persons were rushed to the hospital including two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Details on their wounds were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
